What To Wear Go-Karting
Dress for the track once and you will never wonder again. It is genuinely simple, with two rules that matter and a few that help.
The Two Rules That Matter
First: closed-toe shoes, always, no exceptions. No sandals, no flip-flops, no open-toe anything. Sneakers are perfect. If you forget, it is worth keeping a pair in the car, because a wardrobe choice should not cost you your race.
Second: comfortable clothes you can move freely in. You are climbing into a low seat and working a wheel and pedals. Anything tight or restrictive will fight you the whole session.
What We Provide
We provide a helmet and a neck brace for every driver, included in your race. You do not need to bring or buy either one.
A head sock, a thin balaclava worn under the shared helmet for hygiene, is required and sold at the front counter. Just grab one when you check in. Gloves are not provided: bring your own pair or pick some up in the Pro Shop. They are not required, but most drivers prefer them for grip and comfort.
Dress For An Outdoor Track
MCK is a fully outdoor facility, so the weather is part of the day. In summer, light clothing and sunscreen. In cooler months, layers you can adjust between sessions. A cold, crisp track is actually a fast track, so winter racing is well worth dressing for.
Skip anything loose or dangling: scarves, long open jackets, drawstrings. And if you have long hair, tie it back and tuck it fully in before the helmet goes on. Loose hair near a spinning rear axle is a hazard our staff will not let slide.
