206 Sportsman
The 206 ladder, level two.
206 Sportsman is the next step on the LO206 ladder, for drivers who have built confidence in Cadet karts and grown into the next age and weight bracket.
Drivers ages 8 to 12. It can be run on a cadet or an adult chassis, which makes it a flexible bridge as a young racer grows.
Like every 206 class, Sportsman runs the sealed Briggs LO206 four-stroke. The engine is identical to the one in Cadet, so a driver moving up changes class and chassis fit, not the powerplant they already know.
206 Sportsman racing is close and clean, a continuation of the skill-based competition the LO206 is built around. It is a class where developing drivers sharpen racecraft before the Junior classes.
See every class side by side, and find the one that fits a driver by age and weight, in the Class Explorer.
What age is the 206 Sportsman class?
206 Sportsman is for drivers ages 8 to 12. It is the second step on the LO206 four-stroke ladder, above 206 Cadet.
Can 206 Sportsman run on an adult chassis?
Yes. The 206 Sportsman class allows a cadet or an adult chassis, which makes it a useful bridge for a young driver who is growing between chassis sizes.
